The Beverage Tasting Institute of Chicago (BTI) awarded Buen Amigo Reposado with the Gold Medal after competing with more than 15 of the world's best tequilas, each on a different category, in the 2005 International Review of Spirits Competition. 

According to the official results of the 2005 International Review of Spirits Competition (published on BTI's web site http://www.tastings.com/), Buen Amigo Reposado, was rated as the best among the world's best tequilas in the category of "Reposados". It was recognized as "Exceptional Tequila" by the vast pannel of experts whom tasted over 15 of the best tequilas in the market.
